France Warns War ‘almost Inevitable’ if Iran Nuclear Talks Fail, Tehran Vows "Strong Counterattack"

France has warned that a military confrontation with Iran would be "almost inevitable" if talks over Tehran's nuclear programme failed. "In the event of failure, a military confrontation would appear to be almost inevitable," France's foreign minister said on April 2. Jean-Noel Barrot’s remarks came after French president convened a rare and undisclosed meeting of key ministers and experts to discuss Iran"Our confidence and our conviction remain intact," Barrot said, adding that "Iran must never acquire nuclear weapons."European powers are seeking to curb Iran's uranium enrichment activity ahead of an October 2025 deadline when UN sanctions related to a 2015 accord on Iran expire. There is concern among Washington's European allies that the US and Israel could launch airstrikes on Iran's nuclear facilities unless there is a deal. The US has reinforced military capabilities in the Middle East with more warplanes, the Pentagon said on April 1. This comes as the US carries out a bombing campaign against the Houthis who control much of Yemen and are supported by Iran. Some European officials are apprehensive that the campaign against Houthis in Yemen could be a precursor to a US strike on Iran in the coming months. n18oc_world n18oc_crux0:00 INTRODUCTIONRUSSIA SLAMS US THREATS ON IRAN NUKE SITESIRAN SPURNS MEETING OFFER BY TRUMP’S MIDEAST ENVOYTRUMP CONSIDERING IRAN'S OFFER OF INDIRECT NUCLEAR TALKS: REPORT
