UK weather: Britons bask in nine-day 'mini-heatwave' as temperatures surpass Spain's in just days

width="100%"></iframe><br/><p>Britain is set to bask in glorious sunshine throughout the week as the Met Office forecasts dry weather across the UK with daytime temperatures "a good few degrees above average".</p><p>The delightful spring conditions will see most of the country enjoying fine weather well into the weekend.</p><h3></h3><br/><p>Simon Partridge, a meteorologist at the Met Office, explained: "High pressure is building over the UK."</p><p>While some brief cloudiness may affect Northern Ireland, Scotland and north-west England today, the weather is expected to remain sunny, which is great," Partridge added.</p><p>Temperatures are expected to reach a pleasant 17C to 18C across much of the UK this week.</p><p>The mercury may even climb to a summery 20C by Thursday, with the south east enjoying the best of the sunshine.</p><p>"Temperature-wise, we're looking around about 17C to 18C, and quite widely as well," said Partridge.</p><p>"Most parts of the UK will be forecaster confirmed that daytime temperatures will climb "a good few degrees above average" every day this week and could continue into next week.</p><p>Mercury will also stand marginally higher than the temperatures seen across Iberia, including Ibiza. </p><p>This splendid weather offers a perfect opportunity for Britons to enjoy the outdoors as spring truly arrives.</p><p>Despite the warm days, Partridge warned that chilly temperatures will likely follow the daytime warmth, with clear skies potentially leading to some frost overnight.</p><p>"Night-time temperatures are almost exactly on average, so overnight we're getting pretty much what we should be getting," he said.</p><p>The Met Office meteorologist advised gardeners to exercise caution with new plants.</p><h3></h3><br/><img are out and about getting their gardens ready: don't put the new plants out just yet."</p><p>Towards the end of the week, the weather pattern may shift slightly as the high pressure system moves eastward.</p><p>This could bring somewhat breezier conditions to western and central areas of the UK.</p><p>"But nothing too bad," Partridge reassured.</p><h3></h3><br/><img alt="Sunbathers during
