'It is so beautiful': Expat who has lived on the Greek islands for 30 years shares her experience abroad ()

From my house, I can see the bay below. I pray I never have to live without the view of the sea again; I love it."</p><h3></h3><br/><img alt="Drone photo of the Greek island Spetses" class="rm-shortcode" data-rm-shortcode-id="66db3471482b7f2e080daf78902c6af0" data-rm-shortcode-name="rebelmouse-image" id="7dc32" loading="lazy" src="https://www.gbnews.com/media-library/drone-photo-of-the-greek-island-spetses.jpg?id=52516622&width=980"/><h3></h3><br/><div class="embed-latest"></div><p>For retiree Sherry, the slow pace of life "suits" her, and she thoroughly enjoys the "relaxed vibes" of the island of Salamina.</p><p>Sherry explained: "I like to go slow and enjoy things, and at this point in my life, I am able to do that.</p><p>"I do not have the stress of traffic; we have hardly any here apart from a small amount on weekends."</p><p>As well as the slow living, the expat loves how quiet life is, with there being "almost no noise".</p><h3></h3><br/><div class="embed-dontmiss"></div><p>She said: "I have a little wind chime, and I can hear it with the slightest breeze because there is no noise. You could hear an olive or a lemon drop."</p><p>Another massive plus for expats is the "very cheap" cost of living on the island, which " might surprise" individuals.</p><p>The expat noted: "Owning or renting a house on the island, except if you are talking about Mykonos or Santorini, is very cheap.</p><p>"Your daily expenses, too. You won't find the top doctors. We have good enough doctors, but knock on wood, I never need to see them.</p><p>Sherry explained that "there is a limited amount of shopping" on the Greek islands, and certain stores are only on the mainland.</p><p>Another expat has shared <a href="https://www.gbnews.com/travel/expat-greece-connections-networking-friends" target="_blank">"the biggest mistake" he made when he moved from London to Nafplio</a> in Greece in 2010.</p>
