SpaceX Successfully Launches 23 Starlink Satellites on Brand-New Falcon 9 Rocket

On May 20, 2025, SpaceX successfully launched its 60th Falcon 9 mission of the year from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station using a brand-new booster, B1095. The rocket lifted off at 11:19 p.m. EDT from Launch Complex 40, carrying 23 Starlink V2 Mini satellites into low Earth orbit. Notably, 13 of these satellites are equipped with Direct to Cell technology, designed to provide satellite-based mobile phone connectivity in remote and underserved areas. This was the first flight for booster B1095, which completed a smooth landing on the droneship Just Read the Instructions just eight minutes after launch. The mission highlights SpaceX’s continued innovation in satellite communication and booster reusability, expanding the ever-growing Starlink megaconstellation, now with over 7,500 active satellites.
