She was presenting a package to the British public, which was, ‘okay, I will put up taxes, basically in defiance of what we promised in the manifesto. At the same time, I will make some difficult cuts to public spending, which goes against the Labour instinct.</p><p>“’But guess what? We should not be inflicted with a massive Budget deficit and in fact, we have a massive deficit, which means taxes are going up and up and up.”</p><p>Heath discussed the prospect of welfare reforms being watered down in order to appease rebel MPs.</p><p>A vote is set to go ahead on the bill next week with around 120 Labour MPs opposed to it, and Heath told GB News they are opposing a “common sense” move.</p><p>“I think the situation is very bad. We’ve got a Government that is spending far too much”, he said.</p><h3></h3><br/><div class="embed-latest"></div><p>“We’re a country that is living beyond its means. That conversation will continue in the coming days, so we can begin making change together on Tuesday.”</p>
